About NVYC
Our History
The Club has been the major center for Napa River recreation since 1954. The
non-profit Napa Valley Yacht Club was chartered in 1987, purchased the
facilities, and merged membership with the Napa Boat Club to further promote
boating and water recreation on the Napa River.
Location
Conveniently located near downtown Napa, the Napa Valley Yacht Club is located
about 12 miles up the Napa River from the confluences of the Carquinez Strait,
San Pablo Bay and the Mare Island Straits. The trip takes about 1½ hours by
boat.

Membership & Organization:
NVYC membership currently numbers over 100 families over 90% of whom live in
Napa. The Club is led by a dedicated group of fun-loving volunteers who maintain
a busy schedule of boating and social activities including cruise-outs around
the Bay and Delta, cruise-ins by visiting yacht clubs and special events. As a
100% volunteer and non-profit club, the members contribute hundreds of hours
each year toward club and community activities. No tax dollars are spent for
recreation activities at the Club.
It is not required to have a boat to join the Club. Boat ownership
includes about 30% cruising vessels, 50% a variety of smaller craft, including
row boats, electric boats and dinghies while the remaining 20% do not own boats.
Napa Valley Yacht Club welcomes new members.
