Dear Prospective Napa Valley Yacht Club Member,

Thank you for your interest in joining the Napa Valley Yacht Club.  You may click the link at the top of the page for a printable petition for membership.

We have a lot of fun!  However, we do not have any paid staff.  We sponsor many activities and we are dependent on member-volunteer help.  We will look forward to your participation when assistance is required.  Please note that a requirement of membership is agreement to help with club activities.  A copy of our month newsletter "Now Hear This" will give you more information about our activities and scheduled events.

The Club is open every Friday evening.  Our Bar Captain opens the bar and member-volunteers manage the galley.  Each member is expected to sponsor/host at least one Friday evening each year.  We try to have two families assigned to each Friday.  Sponsorship includes setup and cleanup.  It can be for one of our once-a-month potlucks, managing the barbeque for bring/cook-your-own-meat events, or can include bringing in prepared food; or it can be the preparation of meals for 65 people.  We try to keep the meals simple and inexpensive.  All costs are reimbursed.

Before the Board of Directors will take action on your petition for membership, your attendance at two scheduled Club activies with your sponsor is required.  During these events your sponsor should introduce you to as many members as possible so you can get to know us.  Our standing rules say that you should be introduced to at leas six of the current officers and directors.  You and/or your sponsor should list the event dates and introductions on the application as indicated.

Please return the completed petition for membership along with your initiation fee of seven hundred and fifty dollars ($750.00) to the address on the form.  The petition needs the signature of sponsors from two separate NVYC families.  The annual dues of $175.00 are payable the first of January.  Your dues will be prorated from the date of your membership to the end of the year.

Upon Membership acceptance, you will receive a packet containing the NVYC burgee (flag), a roster, and the bylaws, standing rules and other operating documents.  NVYC Name Tag(s) will be ordered and available for you at the club.  Should you have any questions, please call the Membership Chair, Evelyn Silveri.  Phone:  707-255-1254.
